The question
Some people keep the same routine every day, while others prefer variety. Which suits you better, and why? Explain with examples.
Model answer
I keep a fixed routine, and I do it precisely so that the interesting parts of my life can be unpredictable. My mornings never change: same alarm, same walk, same two hours of difficult work before anyone can reach me. Because those decisions are already made, I have energy left for the parts that are not, such as agreeing to a last minute trip or taking on a project I have never tried. Friends who change everything constantly seem to spend their attention on logistics rather than on the things they wanted the variety for. Routine is not the opposite of an interesting life; for me it is the machinery that pays for one.
Why this answer scores
- Takes a position and then complicates it, which is more convincing than a simple preference.
- The contrast with friends supplies evidence without needing statistics.
- The last sentence reframes the question, the kind of ending that lifts a short response.
