Duolingo English Test Speak About the Photo
Look at the picture for 20 seconds, then describe what you see for up to 90 seconds. Speak About the Photo is scored on content, discourse coherence, fluency, grammar, lexis and pronunciation. You get an estimate on the 10-160 scale and a transcript of what you said. It is scored from the transcript, so fluency and pronunciation are not part of the number.
You get 20 seconds to look at the picture. Recording then starts by itself and stops after 90 seconds, or when you click the mic. Describe it as if to someone who cannot see it: who is there, what they are doing, where it is, and the details. Use all your time.

How long do I get?
20 seconds to look at the picture, then 90 seconds to speak, as the Duolingo English Test Question Guide describes this task. Recording starts on its own when the 20 seconds end.
What is scored?
On the real test, content, discourse coherence, fluency, grammar, lexis and pronunciation. Here your answer is scored from a transcript, so the number reflects content, coherence, lexis and grammar.
What makes a strong answer?
Say more than the names of things. Describe what the people are doing, where they are and the details, as if to someone who cannot see the picture, and use all of your time.
